Allowance: terms
Allowance terms
Effective 21 October 2026.
Moola provides Allowance, an iPhone app for adults to set daily app budgets, quiet hours and pauses and inspect block receipts. Use it only on devices you are entitled to manage. Contact https://project-moola-401d0.web.app/support for assistance.
Payment and access
Downloading the app allows educational onboarding and an illustrative receipt preview. Normal use requires a current paid subscription for the whole app. There is no ongoing free rule or free introductory trial. Annual and monthly plans, where available, show Apple's localized price and billing period before confirmation. Do not purchase if the offer is unavailable or unclear. Missing store products do not grant access or start a charge.
Apple bills your Apple Account and renews the selected subscription until you cancel under Apple's subscription terms. Manage or cancel it through your Apple subscription settings. Deleting Allowance or its account does not cancel billing. Refund requests follow Apple's process and any mandatory local rights. No extra fee is charged for a correction within a rule's configured correction allowance.
An Allowance account binds a subscription to the account used for purchase. Sign in to that account and use Restore subscription on another supported device. A subscription is not automatically transferred to another or deleted account. Contact support before paying again if restoration fails. Family Sharing of the subscription is not offered. Delayed or pending payments unlock access only after verification. Refunds, revocation or expiry stop paid use; your saved records remain available for export and deletion. Offline access uses a bounded last verified period and may require reconnection before its deadline, at most seven days after verification.
Screen Time and receipts
iOS permission, supported device frameworks and your selected apps are required. Each phone needs its own permission and selections. Apple controls counting, shielding and the time extensions run. Callback delays, interrupted monitoring, device settings and usage shared by Apple across devices can affect counts. Receipts reflect recorded threshold events and mark missing timestamps; they are not an exact independent measurement of every second or a guarantee against bypass. Do not depend on Allowance for emergency, medical, legal or safety-critical restrictions. The app makes no parental-control or child-safety claim.
Corrections are bounded top-ups with a reason entered in the ledger. Firm rules do not allow corrections and queue applicable edits until the next day. Monitoring schedules and some corrections need at least 15 minutes remaining. These limits are explained before the relevant action. Subscription expiry pauses every rule; iOS controls delivery of an extension's expiry callback when the app is closed.
Your records and account
Keep sign-in credentials secure. Account ledgers are separate, and another account does not inherit your records or paid rights. App selections and minute ticks stay local; the promised account ledger syncs through Firebase. This is not encryption with a key held only by you. Conflicting device edits can require an explicit choice; export both versions first. Unfinished changes stay on their original device until they sync. Erasing an app or its device data can permanently remove unsynced work.
You can export records and request deletion without subscribing. Account deletion becomes final only after the server confirms completion. Other Moola product accounts are preserved. Apple authorization is revoked during Apple-linked account deletion. See the privacy policy for retained, detached store references and provider backups.
Rights and fair use
Your records remain yours. Moola retains its original software, branding and assets and respects third-party licenses. Do not abuse the service, attempt unauthorized access to other accounts or interfere with its security. Availability and features can change to maintain compatibility. We provide support and honour mandatory consumer rights; nothing in these terms removes rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Disputes remain subject to those mandatory rights and applicable law.
